In 1993 Eysing graduated from the Fachoberschule for Art and Design in Münster. In 1998, he completed his apprenticeship as a carpenter and began in 1999 to study industrial design at the prestigious School of Muthesius in Kiel with Professor Dieter Zimmer, with whom he undertook an important for his journey design approach in China. Still student Volker Eysing began to explore the behavior of chairs in open-plan offices - with surprising results: 75% of all users were seated on chairs that were not or incorrectly set. In 2003, Volker Eysing won the SieMatic Küchenaward and the Braun Red Dot Award in 2009 and 2010.
